Welcome to Compass Prep Academy
for more information.
Compass Prep Academy meets on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Tuesday and Thursday classes meet at Woodstock Church of the Nazarene from 8:45 - 2:45. Wednesday classes meet at Resurrection Anglican Church from 9:00 - 3:30 (ending time on Wednesday will vary depending on that day's Off-Road field trip, service project, or guest speaker) (click here for campus addresses)
Compass Prep Academy is a unique, 3 day, NON-TRADITIONAL learning community which offers a wide variety of options for ALL TYPES OF STUDENTS. We challenge the high achieving students and encourage the "deflated" ones to find their direction and then help them prepare for and reach their unique goals; thus our name "Compass Prep". This is not an assembly-line, one-size-fits-all program, but one which is organic and works with each student as an individual with their own needs, dreams and goals. When they come to us not having any idea about their futures, we take them through a mentoring process which helps them discover their gifts, interests and, most importantly, their vocation and calling before God.

Our HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM, accredited through the GAC (Georgia Accreditation Commission), offers a full menu of college prep classes, foreign languages, maths and sciences, and thought-provoking courses in the humanities taught from a Biblical worldview. We also offer Entrepreneurship and Money Management, among other excellent and stimulating courses, including Robotics and Technology courses. Student-designed Independent Study Projects for high school credit allow students to focus on specific areas of interest. Our Off-Road Program takes students into the community classroom through field trips, speakers, and hands-on experiences. Full-time enrollment at Compass Prep includes an accredited transcript of courses completed toward a Georgia high school diploma.
Our WEDNESDAY CLASSES include drawing, painting, conversational French and Spanish, and our "Off-Road" Community Exploration program.
Our INTERMEDIATE (middle grades) PROGRAM is a wonderful mix of 6th-8th grade students. They study math in a tutorial setting with very small groups working at different levels and moving through mastery to the completion of pre-algebra by the time they finish 8th grade. The students in this level can be advanced or challenged in math, because of the tutorial groups. Language arts includes grammar and simple composition, Latin (with some Greek root words as well) and reading across genres with creative book projects to share their reading experiences with the whole class. Technology classes include keyboarding, robotics, and computer game-making. Foreign languages are approached at this level by exposing them to four different languages (French, German, Spanish and Italian) by teaching them a selection of conversational phrases in every language while exploring the various cultures reflected in them (music, art, food, geography) in a unit-type study that gives students a good feel for four major world languages so that they can try-before-they-buy! As they hear each language, the students will be more confident when it comes to choosing one to study as they enter their high school years. Various periods of history are taught on a rotation beginning with Ancient Civilizations, Renaissance, Reformation and Age of Exploration, Into the Americas, focusing on early American history, and then 20th Century History.
Whether you have looked at us before, or this is the first time you've heard our name, Compass Prep invites you to explore the possibilities for your student(s) to join our unique, non-traditional learning community in our 3 day program, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
DIRECTED STUDIES PROGRAM - We offer a Transcript Accreditation Service for high school students not enrolled full-time at Compass Prep. This service provides an evaluation and consulting service designed to assist students in mapping out a high school plan of study to help ensure that all necessary high school course requirements are met for a high school diploma. Our Directed Studies program will also assist with your student's college admission process.
